1) Aghast
Meaning: Filled with horror or shock, horrified, astounded

Memory trick: (Aghast = A + ghost)
After seeing a ghost movie everyone became horrified.

Sentence: Helen was aghast when she found the illegal drugs buried in her backyard.


2) Aloof
Meaning: detached, alone, unresponsive

Memory trick: (Aloof = Alone + roof)
He is alone on roof top. He never talks too much. He is very reserved and detached.

Sentence: He kept himself aloof from all party strife.

3) Ameliorate
Meaning: To improve, make(something bad or unsatisfactory) better

Memory trick: (Ameliorate = Amul ka rate)
Amul's rates are increasing because they are trying to improve its quality.

Meaning: having a friendly attitude, cordial

Meaning: To pardon, to forgive
