1) Strife

Meaning: Bitter conflict, discord, disagreement

Trick to remember: Strife = Struggle with your wife
If you are struggling with your wife that means a conflict has happened.

Sentence: The strife between the two brothers started when they fell in love with the same girl.

2) Stringent

Meaning: Strict, severe, rigorously binding

Trick to remember: Stringent = Strict + agent

Sentence:  She failed to meet the stringent selection criteria.

3) Subjugate

Meaning: To dominate, to subdue

Trick to remember: Subjugate = सब झुक गए on the gate
A tyrant enslaved the whole city. On his command सब झुक गए on the gate. He subjugated (dominated) everyone in the city.

Sentence: When the settlers first landed on the continent, they tried to subjugate the natives and turn them into slaves.

4) Succour

Meaning: Assistance and support in times of hardship and distress, to help

Meaning: Get on the top of, overcome a difficulty or obstacle, conquer

Trick to remember: Surmount = Sir + Mount
Sir Edmund Hillary conquered Mount Everest.
